Tranexamic Acid

Tranexamic acid works further upstream than most brightening ingredients, interrupting the signal between skin cells and the cells that make pigment. That makes it particularly useful for melasma and post-inflammatory marks, the stubborn kinds of discolouration that return. It works slowly, layers well with niacinamide, and does nothing at all without daily sunscreen.
